“On behalf of the singers of Adelaide Chamber Singers, current Artistic Director Christie Anderson, and Dr Carl Crossin, Founding Artistic Director and Conductor Emeritus, we are honoured to receive the 2024 South Australian Luminary Award.
A sustained commitment to commissioning and artistic excellence resonates deeply with us as we celebrate our 40th year. ACS has the proud history of commissioning and premiering over 30 new works, showcasing outstanding composers and expanding the possibilities of vocal chamber music through rich stories and an Australian lens.
We approach each new work with integrity, honesty, and openness. Every piece written for us is a shining gem—contributing to the rich and evolving story of Australian choral music.
We shape these works into breathing, resonant art for the audiences we’re privileged to share them with. And we ensure they live beyond us—through performances and recordings that champion the composers behind them and ensure their music continues to find new voices, new listeners, and new life.
