Baroque Hall, Tynte Street, North Adelaide
Conducted by Christie Anderson
Existing between earth and sky, we find ourselves drawn to the constellations that silently turn above us, and to the music that rises from the ground beneath our feet. Stellar is a reflection on connection: the mystery of the universe where the constellations above mirror the music deeply rooted in the ground below.
At its heart is the acclaimed and powerful song cycle All Flesh is Fire by composer Anne Cawrse and poet Kate Llewellyn AM, exploring themes of grief, ageing, memory and transformation through life’s seasons.
This is joined by music that traces the arc of light across the heavens—from the radiant harmonies of Ēriks Ešenvalds’ Stars and Joe Twist’s Hymn of Ancient Lands, to the inspired voices of Keren Terpstra, Brooke Shelley and Blake Morgan, all of whom reflect on stars as the guiding light to find home.
